Pune- Retail price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicular segment in the Pune city including Pimpri-Chinchwad and adjoining areas of Chakan, Talegaon and Hinjewadi shall be undergoing upward revision Rs. 1.50/- per KG (including taxes) and accordingly, the CNG retail selling price shall be revised to Rs. 85.0/- per KG.
In order to cater to increasing consumption of CNG and due to shortfall in domestic natural gas allocation, additional market priced gas (including higher priced imported gas) is being sourced, and this has resulted in increase in input cost of natural gas for the CNG segment.
To partially effect the increase in gas cost, it has become necessary to upwardly revise the CNG price by about 2 percent. Despite this marginal revision, CNG still offers attractive savings of around 50% in comparison to petrol and around 28% as compared to diesel at current price levels in Pune city for passenger car segment and around 29% for Autorickshaws.
The Domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) prices shall remain unchanged.
